Location: 2150 N 15th St
A mini park at the intersection of 15th Street and Hill Road has a drinking fountain, game table, benches and pathways thanks to a Neighborhood Reinvestment Grant and financial support from the North End Neighborhood Association (NENA).
The $25,000 project was funded by two Neighborhood Reinvestment Grants and a $5,000 contribution from the North End Neighborhood Association.
Historic Significance
The site sports one of two obelisk monuments marking the Goodale’s Cutoff route on the Oregon Trail. The monuments are located in McAuley Park, 1650 W. Resseguie Ave., and at Dewey Park, at 15th and Hill Road.
The sites were selected because of their close proximity to the 1860s emigrant trails located at what is now Harrison Boulevard and Hill Road. Each monument features historic information, a bronze relief medallion of a covered wagon, maps, and a user friendly bicycle tour of Boise’s pioneer sites. The tour extends from the North End, through downtown and Boise Avenue to the Oregon Trail Reserve in Southeast Boise.
