History
This small neighborhood park was named for the author and naturalist Gordon S. Bowen.
Bowen was appointed as director for the Boise Parks & Recreation Department from 1956-1978. He is also the author of Boise’s Parks: A Cause and a Trust. In 1987 Bowen published ‘Grandjean, Man of the Forests’ with the assistance of the Idaho State Historical Museum.
